House of Lydia Bed and Breakfast

A calm oasis in the historic Garland Hill District of Lynchburg, Virginia, this faith-based Bed and Breakfast offers unparalleled elegance and charm. The House of Lydia welcomes overnight business guests as well as those seeking respite, renewal  and sanctuary. Visiting ministers, seminary professors, missionaries serving around the world, business travelers and other guests will all experience genuine hospitality in an atmosphere of peace and quiet.

This beautiful Victorian, circa 1883, sits on a charming tree-lined, cobblestone street in a neighborhood dotted with grand period homes and churches from a bygone era. Ten foot ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors throughout the house enhance the ambiance of this beautiful turn-of-the century Victorian. The 3 upstairs bed-rooms, each named after beautiful scriptures, are well appointed and comfortably furnished with period antiques and king-sized beds. Guests will appreciate a private and beautifully tiled bathroom for each of the bedrooms. We've maintained the historical accuracy of the home by keeping all the bathrooms off the hallway, which is just steps away from sleeping and living areas.

Our guests can enjoy the peace and tranquility of their room without the distraction of television or telephone. These amenities are available to guests in the downstairs parlor. Each guestroom is fully furnished with a desk, an armoire, period side chairs and each are provided with plush, luxurious robes. In addition, we offer quality sheets and feather pillows that pamper and all-natural bath amenities that soothe. The most requested room, 1 Corinthians 13, which is also perfect for a Bridal or Honeymoon Suite, features an old French brass canopy bed with an organic mattress, wrap-around patio, and deluxe spa-bath. Downstairs there are common areas available to be enjoyed by all our guests, which include two parlors and dining rooms, a sunny reading room/library, wrap-around porches (one with an old-fashioned swing), as well as our rear courtyard-enclosed private garden.

Located a short distance from historic downtown Lynchburg, visitors can experience the peace and tranquility and relaxed respite of the B & B while having the convenience of being in close proximity to local attractions, shopping, and dining.

Our home is graced with a personal collection of art and artifacts, many of which were acquired from travels around the world, that we hope our guests will find interesting and enjoyable.
